There are so many expenses when it comes to wedding planning. Many brides have to prioritize what they want to invest in. If you’re having trouble making a decision about your florals, here is what I suggest: make your bridal bouquet a BIG priority!
If your wedding takes place in a cold weather month (eg. November - April), it is worth considering fake flowers for the bride and bridesmaids due to how quickly the flowers will die in cold temperatures. Read more about this and other tips in the Winter & Cold Weather section.
The bride’s bouquet will be photographed in nearly every part of the day - with your other details in the getting ready suite, walking down the aisle, in your family pictures, with your wedding party, in portraits together as husband and wife, at your reception head table.
The bride’s bouquet really is a focal piece of the day, so I highly recommend getting your DREAM bouquet and investing less on the bridesmaids bouquets since they will not be photographed nearly as much!
Plan to have a separate bouquet to use for your bouquet toss! Often times professional florists will include this for free to ensure that the toss does not damage yours!
Think about any other florals you want and brainstorm ways they could be repurposed for a different part of the day. For example, we’ve seen couples invest in two large arrangements that are placed in front of the altar for the ceremony and then are moved to the reception.
