Every couple wants to make sure their guests have a great time time at their wedding. The following tips are things we've seen done to help make sure it was indeed a positive experience for their friends and family.
Signage at reception venue (in a welcome area or at the individual tables)
Signage at ceremony
Wedding Mass Program
Wedding Website
Since the timeline is not always finalized when invitations go out, couples often opt to not include a formal dinner start time on the printed wedding invitations. Instead they note the time cocktail hour begins with “reception to follow” on the invitation. However, once you’ve set a formal reception time with your venue and vendors (photo, video, DJ, etc.) then you can add this to the following locations:
Be sure to tell your guests what you expect from them and their attire. Getting married in the church means that there should be a level of reverence to their attire. How formal or casual you request them to be beyond that is up to you!
Make sure your guests know where to park for your ceremony and reception, especially if a parking lot is not directly provided.
If there is any kind of construction between your ceremony and reception venue, be sure to give your guests a heads up! Communicate it through your wedding website or as a separate announcement if necessary.
Not every church or venue has air conditioning which can be a big deal on a hot summer day! Consider providing small water bottles or paper fans to keep your loved ones cool. Some couples do this only for the wedding party and their immediate family members, others opt to do something for all guests attending.
